whimsy is a powerful tool. you can focus on anything you want, you can devote time to thinking about how the weather is bad, or how it sucks having to work for a living, or whatever else

or you can think about dandelion cube

a patch of green grass sprinkled with dandelion flowers, a naturally growing flower with several bright yellow petals. in the middle of the image is a box that seems to be made entirely out of these flowers.ALT

life can be extremely difficult. and things fucking suck. like, a lot of things fucking suck. feeling alright and being ok are not, in any way shape or form, easy to do.

but still, among other things, you can think about dandelion cube

and that thought can be there for you if you need it

One of the best writing advice I have gotten in all the months I have been writing is “if you can’t go anywhere from a sentence, the problem isn’t in you, it’s in the last sentence.” and I’m mad because it works so well and barely anyone talks about it. If you’re stuck at a line, go back. Backspace those last two lines and write it from another angle or take it to some other route. It has worked wonders for me for so long it’s unreal

Been thinking a lot about this—I used to do the Goodreads Challenge every year and I realize now that I barely remember anything about the books I read in the years that I read 50 books or something like that.

I think trying to count up the amount of books I read and read more books in terms of quantity killed my enjoyment of it. It can definitely be more enriching to read fewer books at a slower pace. Sometimes you gotta absorb
